The Cricket Watcher's Journal

Another unheralded blogger. In depth and refreshing analysis, from an Indian angle.

- "Top 20 Cricket websites: readers respond", Telegraph.co.uk

 Concise, and true.

We wish SB greater achievements- not that this recognition will make a difference to what he writes.

I feel proud for him (and grateful- this is a lame horse of a blog, and for a short period when I kept track of visitors, I found that more than eighty percent of them came via TCWJ clicking through his blogroll. Thanks for the traffic!)

  1. The credit for posting sane content on TCWJ must go to Bala and Mikesiva. Mine was mostly inane. And then my gratitude to all the readers who unhesitatingly express themselves at the blog and making for a frank and forthright, coffee-room discussion. And there must have been a soul or two who must have put up the blog's name for the newspaper's consideration.

V Belong is not a lame blog as you put it. Posts here make you pause and think. The range and depth of topics covered here is mindboggling.

  2. I read every one of your posts- but unfortunately, due to my own prejudices I am moved to comment only on negative matters. So I mostly try not to comment.

And I am sure there are many more silent readers to your blog.

The amount of effort you take over each posts is stupendous. I think the passion you bring into this is as good as, if not more than, that of, any journalist.

And I am sure if you had direct access to the players of this 'gentle' game, you will outdo the best of our columnists.

I think, as far as subcontinental cricket is concerned, and that of west indies- your coverage is excellent. I sense that you want them to do well.

This is a rare quality- because most of us want teams like pakistan, bangla esh and sri lanka thrown into the rubbish heap. Your decision to opt out of sub-continental rivalry is what, for me, gives tcwj the zing.

I wish you well, and I hope you receive more attention, especially in the Indian media.

Who knows, may be in two or three years, we'll see you in the panel of "The Big Fight" on NDTV.

    That'd be the day!

And of course, one has to appreciate the people who comment there: they are the spirit of the blog- it is their comments, and the knowledge that they bring to discussion, that enlivens and adds more detail to your posts. It is noble of you to acknowledge that.

    Thanks for posting.

As for V Belong- it sure is a lame horse: for one thing, i would never have the energy like the way you do to keep the focus, and do post after post, and then respond with great attention to each and every comment. It is the passion for the game, I suppose.

Anyway, I am honestly thankful for the traffic.
