Thanks to Balajhi and Kartikey, I will try to do some writing- will keep it short, because I don't have the necessary confidence for longer ones. Let's see how it goes,,,
I haven't told anyone in my office about this blog- not because I am a secretive person by nature, but because it is inconvenient. You will have to talk about things that you normally don't do. I try to avoid that. Also, I can't then write certain things...
Such as...
A friend told me today when we were at the canteen, "Look at that woman in the counter, XXX is keeping her"
You know what a kept woman is, right?
It perked me up, you know what I mean, so I turned back to look at her, and was immediately disappointed- her dorsum was wide and flat, but beyond that, I could not see anything.
"Instead of showing her face, you are showing her back", I told my friend.
"Wait", he said, "she will turn".
But by then I had come to my senses- "What is the use?", I asked him, "why should I know who she is?"
I turned away, and we walked off with him saying, "She could be someone you know", but I had lost interest in her, but still he told me a salacious tale and I could not resist listening to him.
What does that tell about me, that is what I want to know.
Be happy.
Thanks for the start and excellent narration. Not many can narrate in so simple and entertaining way. The same incident with a different narration could have taken a different turn. So please keep it going.
ReplyDeleteWhat does it say about you? Just that you are as normal as anyone in this world. But it also says you are not protective about your image, which is not normal.
We define what is right and what is wrong then we feel bad or guilty for indulging in what was defined by us as wrong. Alternately we could redefine what is wrong and not feel bad or guilty. How we take it depends on us. What is important is whether we carry on with what we think is wrong?
"What does that tell about me, that is what I want to know."
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about it? [smiles]
people who are talked off as being salacious, do they talk salacious too?
1. Thanks balajhi, we can't not judge what we or anyone else is doing, and there is not much sense in that.
ReplyDelete2. Kartikey, if people do not encourage salacious stuff, would people narrate salacious stuff? :)
oh sir. these IT offices! lot of gossips. have to carry on with them. ok ok.
