India - is there a silver lining?

Not a great time for India. Facing problems on many fronts.
  • Prices are soaring
  • Corporate confidence shows signs of weakness
  • Margins are pressurised
  • IAEA members mouthing some uncomfortable words
  • Increasing noises from US on Hyde act and how India is bound by that
  • Elections looming large with no clear favourite
  • Terrorism on the rise
  • Monsoon failing to meet expectations
  • Mendis is mesmerising India's fab four
  • Develped world pressing India at WTO and Kyoto
  • Job market cooling off
  • India's blue eyed boys are not exactly
What you make of this situation? Do you see any silver lining?

  1. Yes, it looks pretty depressing.
But i feel we have managed to muddle through so long, somehow we will manage to see the back of all these problems.

  2. There is no doubt that we have improved a lot compared to 80s. But most of it is on the economic front. The society hasn't changed much and in fact it has become more materialistic and less of social awareness. It's worrying really.

  3. It will get a lot worse. When you get money, you forget everything else. Today people are running after money, so it is necessary that you leave people behind. Societies change. Values change. It is normal.
