It is sad that controversy has engulfed the apology/clarification that has been tendered by Rajinikant.
There is no reason to doubt Rajini's sincerity, but the timing has brought the storm upon him. Rajini would certainly have realised that he went too far on that day when he incited violence upon those who violate the law. If he had clarified the very next day that he was sorry that he got carried away and did not mean what he said, the whole thing would have boiled over. But as it is, today his sincerity is in doubt.
So this is the value he teaches us today- If you feel sorry, go the whole way. Don't be halfhearted about it. Otherwise, everybody feels insulted.
You are spot on bas. Rajini should have apologised the moment it was demanded as he was clearly over the top with his speech.
ReplyDeleteBut I have my doubts about his sincerety. Why did he not apologise then? Was it because he felt he was right? or was it because he wanted no problems here? I doubt it's the later.
Bas please leave line space between paragraphs. It will take only few minutes after you type. It's difficult on eyes to read with out any line space.
Yes, that is what i meant. If you leave it too late, people will doubt your sincerity. When you decide to apologise, you have to be clear and immediate, otherwise it would appear phoney.
