A Summary of Posts on 10.12.08

I have heard often that when and where you are born has to do with how you are. Not just in astrology, but also some recent studies suggest your temperament and health could have something to do with the month in which you are born. Here is a study that suggests that you are more prone to Respiratory Problems if you are a Scorpio... This has probably nothing to do with astrology, they say, it is do with how yours lungs expand and your immunity develops.

The "I am the body" idea is supposed to be the primal illusion of all human suffering. Is there any way we can come to grips with it? Seems there could be some answer, some experimental means that could help you decide that identification with body is merely a sensory impression subject to errors of perception. Illusions such as your arm is getting longer, your nose is growing longer (Pinocchio Illusion),   a rubber look-alike is your hand and your skin is made of sandpaper...

And it has to do with the sense of touch- the first sense to come alive in the infant, and the             last to go...

And then there are some good quotes I wanted to add to  the posts of this day- Eckhart Tolle on silence, a celebration by Saichi,  George Bush brings God and Darwin together (As his days as President come to an end, my fondness for him grows... I am thinking of running a Bushism every day till the day Obama takes over)

Keep in happiness and Good health!
