Who can hate Shane Warne? Except possibly, his wife, of course.
It is a good news that his life has been made into a musical, and is praised as funny, outrageous, and a surprisingly moving account of his life.
There are a number of songs in diverse musical styles: Simon and Warne sing a duet, "Dancing With The Stars", a sledging song, "We Never Cross the Line" (the Australian team is not the same without sledging, is it?), his overseas dalliances are made memorable by the song, "The Away Game", and brilliantly, "What An SMS I’m In" captures his troubled romantic life in a song where Warne struggles to answer a stream of text messages as he shops with his wife in a supermarket. The emotional highlight of the show is a tearful ballad, "What About That", which drives home the shattering impact of his betrayal. There’s a Bollywood-style extravaganza about the Indian betting scandal!
Would love to hear the songs and read the lyrics...
Your review heightens the anticipation.
