Electricity Minister Arcot N.Veerasami has been famously- or infamously, what is the difference?- quoted in The Express :
"I' m telling you frankly, after the American incident (recession), there is no scope for IT sector in Tamil Nadu. Don't waste your money... Many are not getting offers from abroad and there have been retrenchments. Many units on Rajiv Gandhi Salai have been affected. Invest in anly other sector except IT".
What next? Given our penchant for cinema, TV, politics and sports, our bright boys wasting their money in Engineering Colleges, spoiling their eye-sight studying voluminous notes, are advised to switch over to ET (Entertainment Technology). Kollywood could do with more lightboys.
will make a post of it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleterather comforting the poor guys, he is adding insult to injury.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links Kartikey. They are good ones.
ReplyDeleteNot only in Pak even in India TV corrupts people, especially young men.
Tavleen Singh's article is a good read really. She has made very good points. Surely the liberals are the ones who find it difficult to identify themselves with India.
"Surely the liberals are the ones who find it difficult to identify themselves with India."
ReplyDeleteThe liberals don't know who they are- they are confused whether they are Westerners with an attitude, in which case, they should hate the West; or whether natives with an attitude, in which case they should hate the West; or simple plain natives, in which case they should hate themselves...
All this comes from reading books, newspapers and watching mindless television...
The man in the street has no such problem.
