Karma

Retribution is swift.

This evening, I went to a browsing centre,  parking my scooty by the roadside.

I had to rush out when somebody ran in, shouting, "The police are towing all the bikes away"; indeed they were. I saw my vehicle on top of their lorry. They had manhandled it, and were moving away.

There was no "No Parking" board there, or anywhere near it. But that could not stop the long arm of the law, could it? The laws are clear, but its enforcement is arbitrary. It is the prerogative of our police.

Then what? I shelled out hundred and fifty rupees as fine.

  1. Bas, I feel that we cannot do anything about this in our lifetime. We are at these people's mercy. We can minimise the frustration only by ignoring it (which is what I try to do), and avoiding it next time as much possible (take deeeeeeep breaths at these times).

hmmm... lets hope that our subsequent generations have a better (fair) quality of life!

  2. Welcome, welcome!

    It is our mentality.

People in the Telephones have/had free calls; people in the railways get free ride; people in the boiler plants get a boiler plate every year.

Every Indian works for himself; you would have heard that in US, most of the stationary in the software firms are filched by us Indians.

I do what I can; but in my office, there is nothing to take home, no advantage to make use of, so I take leave and enjoy.
