Here is another story!

My son keeps writing stories, and he has filled about forty pages of his note-book with them. He is pestering me to put them in the computer,  so I opened a blog to satisfy him- A few small steps-  and then forgot all about it.

Still he persists, and here is the one I put in his blog sometime back.

I will be posting more of those stories in his blog in the coming days, I feel guilty that I neglected them.

Here goes.

rainforest in the Amazon Riverbanks.

There were thousands of animals in the forests.

One day, a fox came on the way and looked at the animals in the Amazon rainforest. The animals were enjoying a party.

The fox was very jealous. He had an idea. He jumped into blue paint. He put on the tail of an elephant, and its trunks and its ears.

An elephant came and asked the fox, "Are you an elephant?"

"Yes," said the fox, "today is my happy birthday".

All the animals were happy. The elephant gave a chococake to all the animals. They all enjoyed the birthday party.

Then, the fox  felt very sad. He ran to see his mom.

His mom was at home. He asked, "Is today my birthday?"

"No, son", said his mom. "Next week, your birthday will come".

The fox ran back to the party. The fox told the animals, "I am sorry. Next week only my birthday will come".

Moral: We should not tell lies.

Do post his stories on this blog as well.
    At least one every week.
    This is good writing.
Maybe some people would smile thinking its a child. It's a child, but a writer.

  2. Thanks a lot for your encouragement, will try to do that.

The problem is, we are preoccupied with what we do...

We don't take the effort to see a child or any one else as he wants to be seen...

  3. Well said Kartikey, though a child, is a writer.

Writing is not something that comes easy even to many adults. A child writing and that too stories is highly appreciable. I was amazed to see his stories notebook and the amount of stories he had written. But knowing that both the father and grandfather are very good writers, it probably comes naturally to him. Bas convey him appreciation.

Bas I wish you show and explain our comments to him.

  4. Thank you.

But reading his stories, I get the idea that he is writing them almost like a film script, shot by shot.

Though I read him stories, he watches lot of television and films, his imagination seems to develop in the cinema mold instinctively.

    It is a bit scary.

  5. Yes, it can be scary. Along with good cinema, more liberal outlook towards life is important. Otherwise cinema can spoil. I believe.

However, with such writing, you shouldn't be scared.

  6. What amazes me is the way the imagination develops... The narrative influence of cinema seems to have taken over the more traditional stories. May be it is because we don't tell stories to children, they get them from films and television. So this kind of film-script thinking comes natural to them.

    Nothing wrong, just a thought.
