The Intelligent Life

There is a man who has the courage to live without money I found him thanks to Xenophilia- Suelo of Moab, Utah.  He knows all about money- “When I lived with money, I was always lacking,” he writes. “Money represents lack. Money represents things in the past (debt) and things in the future (credit), but money never represents what is present.”
Suelo is inspired by Thailand and India, “I wanted to be a sadhu,” Suelo says. “But what good would it do for me to be a sadhu in India? A true test of faith would be to return to one of the most materialistic, money-worshipping nations on earth and be a sadhu there. To be a vagabond in America, a bum, and make an art of it—the idea enchanted me.”

So he decides to live in a cave, all by himself, without any money, “Giving up possessions, living beyond credit and debt,” Suelo explains on his blog, which he maintains free at Moab Public Library, “freely giving and freely taking, forgiving all debts, owing nobody a thing, living and walking without guilt . . . grudge [or] judgment.” If grace was the goal, Suelo told himself, then it had to be grace in the classical sense, from the Latin gratia, meaning favor—and also, free.

Barely 5cm long and with flimsy, 8cm wings, these dragonflies travel more than 12000 miles every year.

The Daily Mail reports that they begin their journey every August, flying from southern India, via the Maldives and the Seychelles, to Mozambique on the east coast of Africa, and complete their voyage in December - and then they start all over again.

This is the Demonic Male Hypothesis: we kill for food and women- Telegraph

Martin Muller is as broad shouldered and tall as an England rugby forward, yet he was frightened. It was August 1998 in Uganda. He heard screams and the sound of something being pounded. He ran through the forest towards the noise; when he burst into a clearing he saw 10 chimpanzees had captured and killed another.
"The pounding that they were doing was on his body. The front of the chimpanzee was covered with 30 or 40 puncture wounds and lacerations, the ribs were sticking up out of the rib cage because they had beaten on his chest so hard. They had ripped his trachea out, they had removed his testicles, they had torn off toenails and fingernails. It was clear that some of the males had held him down, while the others attacked."

And also thieving: another animal heritage, nothing unique about it:

Mortgage broker Amy said: "It was one of the worst days of my life when I realised Allsort had gone. I was absolutely beside myself, it was horrific.
"I had given up all hope of ever finding him, it was terrible. I never thought in a million years I'd have him back."
It turned out that young Allsort — then just a year old — was taken in by a local elderly couple who thought he was a stray and made a fuss over him.

And in China, birds smoke, yes they do- Austria News

I hope you remember the two year old by of China, who was coached on smoking by his father, and who tots up one pack of cigaraettes every day?

We posted it here, that news was from Stars Central. , and this- smoking bird story is at Austrian Times:

A Myna bird in China has taken up smoking after constantly pestering his owner to give him a cigarette.
Zhang Li, from Xuzhou in eastern China, said: "As soon as he sees me in the morning the first thing he says is that he wants a cigarette. And he doesn't stop pestering me until I give him one."

What makes it worse is-

He said: "He is very talented, he can recite poetry and can sing but he refuses to do any of that until he's had a cigarette in the morning. Then he sits there happily chatting away and performing to anybody that comes to visit."
And he added: "I tried to help him quit smoking, but failed because he refuses to speak or eat unless I give him cigarettes."
